'Dull & Misty. The Boys had to leave quite early this morning, in order to be present at the unveiling of the Prince Imperial’s statue at Woolwich. – They want to greatly reduce the number of Troops in Egypt, which I am much against. – Walked with Beatrice after breakfast. – Just as I got home a telegram was put into my hand, from Adela Larking, saying Louischen had been safely delivered of a son. & both were doing well. Great joy, a future little soldierl Evidently Arthur cannot have been there. Had a telegram later, from him, saying he had got back from Woolwich to find a splendid boy. – Bertie & L’ Sydney telegraphed that all had gone off well at Woolwich. Heard how pleased the poor soldier at Netley had been, by the pheasants I sent them from here. After dinner, Beatrice played with Ethel C. on 2 pianos Good accounts of Louischen & the Baby'
